Dearest Nelli,
Well I have had my weekend off and have been to town. I will try to take it all in and in order. I didn;t call you or Stella beacaue it was too late. I could have got into Augusta about 7:00 PM but we had a little trouble put two in the Hospital with slight burns on the arms and I had to turn in their clothes so we didn;t get in until about 9:00 P.M. We had a couple
bottles of beer then got a room oin Hotel Bon Ar. It was a real nice room bit awful hot being up over the Kitchen and heating plant. We then went out and bought a quart and pint of Sherlys. By the way I spent my two months salary which we recieved about 5:00 PM Saturday afternoon. It was only $43.37 net. Out of that I bought the watch which I wanted. It is plain round, second hand, waterproof and not magnetic and cost $19.50. We then went back to the hotel and went to bed, had a good breakfast, finished the whiskey
and came back to our new home have been down to the Px, had out beer and am not ready for bed and it is only 8:00 PM Well not to get back to what I have been thinging about all this time, I know that someone has written this but that I haven't recievd iut as yet.
What is the daughter name?
How much did she weight?
What does she look like?
How are you feeling?
Where is Jackie?
Is Polly there? Dodge or Shorer
How is mother feeling did she go to Barre with Nelli Funnel?
Who took you to the Hospital?

When you get back home pick up a few cigarettes but don't send them until I ask you too. I am pretty well stocked uo, unknown to anyone except you and myself The next of the fellows are trying to pick up enough to send home as most of their wivies smoke. Tonight I found a fello who isn't using this coupons so I can get moist of them if one of use isn't transfered. There have been transferred from our platoon already and at the end of this next week we expect quite a few more well lease iun a way I hope I am one of them and that they send me north
Well this is qutie a better for me to write, at least the lenght is lnger than usual. Well two of the boys have come back pretty well lit up. I can see that the boys will be broken after another week. One of the fellows lost his false teeth which he got Tuesday noon. I think it is really a record.
Well must close
All my love to you & Jackie
Philip
