Dear Jackie, Nellie
How is my little girl today. Mother and Grammie writes that you are a big girl now. That you ever go down to Grammie all alone and make cookies. I hope you take Flash with you once in a while, because I know that he would like to go. Daddy is living out in a tent away , book in the woods. We have moved for the last time. This time we are near a lake and a brook. It gives me a chance to go swimming
and wash our clothes. We had a problem last night from 8:00 PM until 4:00 AM this morning. We fell out about 7:00 o'clock last night and got in a little early. Up at 7:00 had breakfast. Have done my washing and shaved. By the way daddy may have a mostashe when he gets home. Three or four of us are letting them grow I don't know how long it will last. We are living an easy life I think this week of thind don't change too much. We have lost most of our officeiers. They are going overseas. No one know whatwe will get
this next time time, but we haven't much longer to go so it wont make so much difference. I am going to try and take a few picture then afternoon. One of the boys brought his amera with him. The boys have killed a few snakes. One rattler about five feet long, One coral about three just long. I saw one yesterday about three or four feet long, but he got away. I done my best to get him, as I would like a rattle's tail. Just to havethe rattler on the end
We live on Card K rations a couple of days, now we are back on chow and it is quite a come down. The food is poorer that all get out past of the time. We have been transfered to a new Regt. It is the 8th instead of the 9th and When we leave the company will be done. The Regt's fund and the COmpanies fund is going to be spent. So Friday Spet 14th we are all going to the best Hotel in Augusta, "The Rukwood" and have a dance and a big feed. It is going to cost cork of us. One dollar each Not too bad. The say we might
even get a Georgia Peach I would sure like to see one that even looked half way good. It is a nice day but will sure be hot this afternoon. The sun is bright and our tent hasn't any shade. This is the first time that Williamson picked out our spot and he done a damn poor job. Well we just get pulled out for non coms meeting. This afternoon we are having one hour malaria control, then two hours of company music in other words, just a poor way to pass the time,
I had lots rather sleep. one of the boys lost his whole day for skipping yesterdays Band Coment and one hour problem. He had to clear Maritime Years this morning now he has to dig a 10 x 10 x 10 fox hole. It won't be any fun in this sun. Well it time for chow so well finish later
All my love
See you Soon
Phillip
