Dear Jackie,
Last night a little bird came and sat in a tree in front of our house. He told me that he had just come from Groton and that he had seen a little girl by the name of Jackalyn playing in the road in front of her house. He also said that he saw a car stop, to keep from runnung over her. Honey you know better than to play in the road and you must remember if a car should hit you; daddy wouldn't have any little sweetheart when he gets home. I didn't write anything to your mother about this as I know that you won't do it anymore, notw that you know it worries daddy. If I should have another report about it, I will write to mother and tell her how to punish you and it will be hard.
When daddy went to supper tonight he saw a girl he knows with a little baby in a carraige. I stopped and talked to them. The baby was about the siz eof our baby sisiter, but looked more as you used to. It makes daddy a little home sick to talk to her. Every night when I go to the club early there is a little girl about two years old these, with your mother. Sometimes I take her candy and then, she will let me pcik her up. If I don't talk to her it is alright but when I do she gets scared and wants to get down. She just don't understand english. Micky little girl understands a little english but she lives on the other side of the town and we don't see very much of her. Mother wrote that you wanted me to send something to Lois next time. I will but we don't get so many gifts here as we did in Hiedelberg. Only one every three weeks, but in the next.
box I will have something for Lois "Also something for Jackalyn" Don't forget to reming mother, that there is a birthday coming up pretty soon, so to be prepared. A parent and also a party Then daddy little girl will be five yearrs old. I sure wish I could be there to give her a great big kiss. We will be on hand to give her a kiss for her sixth birthday regardless Honey be a good girl and give Lois a big kiss for her daddy.
Love & Kisses
Daddy
