Dear Annie,
I recievd your most welcomed letter along with Oakleyist Aunt Effies, so I am answering them this afternoon. I guess you think I'm doing a lot of work when I'm lying in bed sleeping every morning & evening for the past few weeks, but we work form twelve midnight to eight in the morning unloading a few boats. SHips I should say. There fopr about three "months" we were working approx. seventeen to eighteen hrs a day. So you see we do work after all. Probably the hardest work is to come yet. you'll have to excuse the bad spelling I have I've almost forgotten

how to spell since I've been out of school. that will be the day. When I do come home. It maybe a yr. or more until I see home again. Tell uncle Arthur to jeeo back plenty of eat for I'm going to stay with him a few days when I come back. Tell him that will be the first place I'll stop/ Maybe you'll all see more of the country then you'll expect some day. If you catch what I mean? I guess hte letter sound boresome to you sometimes for I hardly know just what to wriet from writing the same thing over again as was written before

As you have noticed alrady I'm not so very good in my penmanship, but I manage to get by someay or another. I can get there by a taxi, but he won't see anything then. I hope . How would you & Oatley like to see me come in to Aunt Effies some day over the weekend? What would you two reather do write or recieve letter. I myself like to so both. You'll have to do some writting to keep up to mefor that's one thing about the other things I enjoy doing now. I'll close now so to ans Aunt Effies letter, but will write again in a few days.
Love to all
