The Enchanted Island of Luam
My Darling Dona Honey bunch well here I am i the beautiful south seas where it is hotter than heell ad I don't do a dam thing but sleep and they serve beer at 9:30 every morning I will get KP once a month and guard Japs once a month that is all, but as yet I am not sure I will stay on this beautiful island but the Matins are swell. With their pretty grass secrets nad leave the rest to me they are pretty friendly If you don;t let thur husbadnd catch you as the balo knows are pretty sharp. Well all kdding aside it is sure the food is better than any I have had in the states

and all in all just fine since you don't even have to dodge work as the Japs do it all. Well I would like to hear from you as to have you getting along with Kenny. I had a swell trup at sea and awasnt sick at all it is 5,000 miles from San Faran and we didn't see land from the time we left USA I did not get a hit sick we hit a huricane 5000 miles from Luasm and would up 7000 miles away so it took us 20days to get here, the almost stamp ans on the boar oly 2 sandwichs at a mauk no kiddiung it was hell we were clear in the bottom of the boat in a hole and had to sleep on a steel floor and it was so bad I slept on deck even tho the waves came clear up on deck

I was drowned wet but teher wasn't any air down in the hole and " " I had 2 quarts of whiskey with me as we went in to San Francisco to see my cousing Mary Calette that is the one that came out to here me in Denver. We sure had a guard time there slaped all night and all. Well if you are still rseeing Kenny tell ho I will write hime soon but don't call hom for any explains. Hope you sisiter is OK and will soon be finished with school. I won't be able to tempt much as I will be busy wile I am here after all 3 weeks at sea no land no girls no nothing it rough.
