Darling;
I am sorry I had to cut your letter off so short last nite but I was really in a hurry to get away from the post. After mess about 6:30 P.M. we were told that we would again be restricted to quarters and probably to-morrow (Sunday) also. there was also a lot of talk about K.P. duty on Sunday. They were asking us how many had fatigue suits and how many they had. Talk like that makes us all feel pretty downhearted. About 15 minutes later we heard the sargeant yelling in the courtyard, "OFF POST FOR TWO HOURS, FALL OUT!" I was just washing my mess kit so I rushed through that, got dressed and hurriedly finished and mailed your letter and off with a few other fellows to B.T.C. #4 to look up Jack Wood and Al Boouse that other fellows
from Royersford. We decided to walk so we walked and walked about 15 blocks one way till we got to Hotel Charles. On the way we practiced our newly aquired salute technique on the officiers passin by. I saluted everything up to a Lieutenant Colonel. When we got to Hotel Charles I found out that Jack had been shipped early this past week. So we moved on to another street, had a sundae and shopped around. I was getting some prices on crates of oranges and shopping around for soveniers and different things for my darling wife. I found out that the prices are similar to Atlantic City adn the people just about the same (Hikes). We ere restricted all day Sunday so I wrote Mr Lawrence, Schems and my Darling a letter and I also read my book. Its just after mess now and we have open post till 9:00. Its 6:10 now. So I'm going to a Movie. More tomorrow. Bye.

Dearest All my love
Herb

P.S. - Regards to all - I love you infinitely.
