My dearest wife;
Well darling, I don;t know if you'll get this letter in time or not, but it will probably be the last one I'll write from Miami. They practically told us that we would ship before tomorrow noon. That is Friday. It is now 7:40 and we're still on the alert. The fact is we may even sleep aboard train tonite. Quite a few outfits pulled out already so I guess we'll be amoung the next.
We didn't do much today except inspection and special drill infront of the colonel. We had to put on our very best and cleanest and really go to town. I think 602 is one of the best outfits there's out there if not the best. In fact we recieved personally complements from the "Col." We had lectures in the afternoon. They won't let us just lay around and take it easy.
One thing more, be careful on the trys. I can't stress that enough be careful who you speak to and associate with. Well I'll be seeing you darling. IT so good to say that.
All my Love and kisses
Herb
