Dear Mother and Dad,
Recieved your letter today, also my pen and watch from Carl.
and the fruit was pretty good but one could tell that they were on there way if being to pick to eat. Everything is the same way arround here. I am glad to hear that Uncle Graham is improving. Also that old Ted is still with you all. Got a letter from Hazel saying that she was going to start house cleaning. Also she is going to make a banch of candy for me. I sure will greet it with a smile. I am writing this letter trying to keep awake and I sure am tired, I have 45 min left and then a new corporal " " his relief out and rings mine back and takes charge untill the next corporal times comes. There are three corporals on the guard here,
and they eah have a charge of a relief. I have number two relief. Well Mother I know this note won't satisfy you, but will write you another tonight I am pretty well tired out and my time is up almost. So will be able to see how to write. Pleae write as often as possible. Remaining
your loving Son,
Lewis Driscoll
