Dear Mother and Dad:-
Received your letter yesterday. Was tickled to death to recieve it. Was the first letter I recieved from home for about a week, the way it seemed to me. Hazel hasn't written to me for quite a spell. I just wrote her a letter wanting to know what the trouble is. Hope that no-one is sick. We are having warm weather and the wool uniform certainly is hot. And they don't allow a fellow to go around with a coat or blouse off. How are everyone around home? Say hello to all for me. Suppose the sister thinks I
am a dandy but have few very busy of late and hardly have a few moments for ourselves. How is Dad and the office coming along? Could of had an office job in our company but would of rather been a private than an office clerk. They never have any time for themselves and then work never ends. They keep us busy enough but alone with company troubles. Was out taking pictures on Sunday morning. Will get some tomorrow if good, here's hoping these are, will send some home. Have Dad send me some shampoo and money. I am absolutely broke. Will have to borrow some stamps to send Haz and this letter home. So will rely on you for once
Will sure be glad to recieve a Red Cross kit if possible. Did Dad get some blacks? Have been using one of the Dubique boys striaght blade razor. Wish I had a good one as a safety keeps my neck irriated. Dad will know how ichy do. How is Raymond? Suppose Ben is having a wonderful time in the army. Guess he is figuring on going over soon. How is Aunt Kate and Mel and Uncle Leo? Tell them I am ashamed that you are not writting. But Mother you can phone them and tell them that I am always inquiring about them and send them my love. Wish Merlin would come up here. They are having a big bunch of fellows come in here this week. Hope there are some Dubique
Well Mother didn't have much to say but just want you to know that my thoughts are with you and Dad always and I'm always glad to write home and hear from home. So please write as often as possible. Remaining
Your Loving Son,
Lewis
PS:-
I am on guard until tomorrow so busy for another 24 hours.
