Dear Mummy
I recieved your letter this morning, in the midst of cleaning of my uniform. My first night was jolly comfortable in my "pallias". we don't have sheets we just sleep on rugs, with a pallias full of straw underneath. The country is corker and the air is fine. Jean will love it. Don't worry about me washing. We have got shower rooms and I have a wash every night and a wash and shower every morning. I am afraid I have lost my other cards so I have brought some of these. I will pay for them if they are lost but they might turn up. We saw a platoon defence scheme this morning and saw some jennies in gas masks. Two Hawker Furies flew over the camp, yesterday. Looking forward to your letter.

love Teddie.
